The Kamloops Venom are tops in the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League, six points ahead of both the Vernon Tigers and South Okanagan Flames of Penticton.
Kamloops (4-1) bolstered its position in the standings by dispatching Vernon 10-8 at Memorial Arena on Sunday.
Reaching the scoresheet for the home team were Nolan Virgo (3G), Trey Dergousoff (2G, 2A), Callum Gorman (1G, 5A), Kordell Primus (1G, 4A), Mykl Drabiuk (1G, 1A), Nathan Fraser (1G), Max Bose (1G), Mason Suppanz (1A) and Jordan Bunce (1A).
Ethan Milobar made 41 saves between the pipes for the Venom, who will square off against the Tigers (1-3) in Vernon on Wednesday. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Kal Tire Place.
South Okanagan (1-2) was slated to play Kamloops at Memorial on Saturday, but the Flames’ bus broke down en route and the game was postponed.
