FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Iron Ghost Construction North Okanagan Reapers Name Ryan Williamson as Head Coach
Armstrong, British Columbia — The Iron Ghost Construction North Okanagan Reapers are pleased to
announce the appointment of Ryan Williamson as the club’s new Head Coach ahead of the upcoming
season.
The Reapers are a Junior B Tier 1 box lacrosse team competing in the Thompson Okanagan Junior
Lacrosse League. The organization was formed in 2025 through the merger of the Armstrong Shamrocks and the Vernon Tigers, bringing together two established programs to represent the North Okanagan. The Reapers play their home games at Sunbelt Sports Centre in Armstrong, British Columbia.
Ryan brings more than 13 years of minor lacrosse coaching experience across all levels, along with seven years of field lacrosse experience. His coaching résumé includes a Provincial Championship with North Okanagan PeeWee A in 2017 and multiple Coach of the Year honours. At the senior level, Ryan served as Head Coach of the Senior Shamrocks Lacrosse Team for three seasons, highlighted by a Shaw Cup Championship in 2024.
“I’m excited to work with this group and build on what was started last season,” said Williamson. “We want to compete hard, play the game the right way, and get better every day.”
Ryan will be supported by an experienced coaching staff, with Chad Pounder, Owen Barker, and Blaine
Stowards serving as assistant coaches.
The organization would also like to sincerely thank Casey Sherriff for his leadership during the Reapers’inaugural season. Casey played a key role in guiding the team through its first year following the merger, helping establish standards, accountability, and a competitive identity that set the foundation for future success. In addition to his work with the Reapers, Casey has made a lasting impact on lacrosse in the North Okanagan through his many years of dedication to the game as a coach with the Vernon Tigers, mentoring and developing countless athletes along the way.
In their first season of competition in 2025, the Reapers advanced to the league championship game and narrowly lost in overtime in the finals, setting a strong benchmark for the future. The Iron Ghost Construction North Okanagan Reapers look forward to the upcoming season under Ryan Williamson’s leadership, with the 2026 season set to begin in early April.
